Countdown Timer Maker

Count down to a launch, an event or a deadline with a live clock you can embed anywhere. Set the date, style the digits and add milestones. It's free.

O que é um Countdown?

A countdown template is a live clock that ticks toward a date you choose. It breaks the time remaining into years, months, weeks, days, hours, minutes and seconds, in whichever combination you want to show, and updates every second. Months and years follow the real calendar rather than an average length. You can attach a list of milestones from a spreadsheet, such as the steps on the way to a launch, and decide what happens when the date arrives: stop at zero, count up from the target, or swap in a message. It is a piece of a page that readers watch rather than a chart they study.

Quando usar um Countdown

  • You are building toward a date

A product launch, a conference, a sale, an election night. A visible clock adds urgency.

  • You want an embeddable widget

Publish once and paste the embed code into a page, an article or a landing page.

  • You have milestones along the way

A short list of dated steps from a spreadsheet can sit below the clock, with the next one highlighted.

  • You want to count up as well

After the target passes the clock can count elapsed time instead, such as days since an event.

Quando não usar um Countdown

  • You need a full schedule

The milestone list is a simple stacked list. For a proportional schedule use a timeline or Gantt chart.

  • You need to compare values

A clock shows one date. To compare numbers, use a bar or line chart.

  • You need a static image

A countdown is a snapshot of a moving clock. The live embed is the real thing.

  • You need a timer that restarts per visitor

The target is a fixed date, not a personal timer started when each visitor arrives.

Erros comuns em um Countdown

Ignoring the time zone

A date read in the viewer's local time arrives at different moments for different readers. Choose UTC or a fixed offset for a global event.

Setting a date in the past

The clock will have expired. Pick a future date, or choose what the expired behaviour should be.

Showing too many units

Seven units crowd the layout. Show the two or three that matter.

Leaving sample milestones in

The template ships with example rows. Replace them or clear the data before you publish.
