Charts for Google Sheets

Build an interactive chart from your Google Sheets data and embed it anywhere — a website, a Notion page, a blog post. Paste the range, pick a template, copy one line of HTML.

Ejemplo: The ten largest economies

<iframe width="100%" height="100%" src="https://plotset.com/api/embed/6d1d2df1-af68-4c64-9c36-426f2d124f38" />

Google Sheets draws a perfectly good chart for looking at your own data. Where it runs out is the moment the chart has to leave the spreadsheet: the published version is a static image or an iframe that carries Sheets' own styling, and it cannot be themed, animated or exported as a clean SVG for print. PlotSet takes the same rows and gives you a chart that was designed to be published — 300-plus templates including maps and animated formats, your own fonts and colours, hover tooltips, and an embed snippet that behaves like any other piece of your page.

01

Copy the range out of your sheet

Select the cells including the header row and copy them. A header row matters: PlotSet reads it to name your columns.

02

Paste into PlotSet

Open a template and paste straight into the data grid. Column types are detected as you paste — dates stay dates, numbers stay numbers, and text with thousands separators is parsed rather than treated as a label.

03

Or upload the file instead

In Sheets, File → Download → Comma-separated values, then drop the .csv into PlotSet. Same result; better when the sheet is large or has several tabs.

04

Bind the columns to the chart

Tell the template which column holds the labels and which holds the values. Every template states what it expects, so this is usually two dropdowns.

05

Style it once

Set the palette, fonts and number formatting. These are chart settings, not spreadsheet settings, so they survive every data update.

06

Publish and copy the embed

Publishing gives you a live URL and a one-line iframe snippet. Paste it into your CMS, your docs or your site and the interactive chart renders in place.

  • The chart is publishable, not just viewable

A live embed with tooltips, plus PNG, SVG and PDF export. Sheets gives you an image or its own iframe; neither is something you want on a marketing page.

  • Chart types Sheets does not have

Choropleth and symbol maps, sankey diagrams, treemaps, bump charts, marimekko, animated bar chart races. Around 300 templates in total.

  • It looks like your brand

Your fonts, your palette, your number formats — set once on the chart and applied everywhere it is embedded.

  • The data stays where it is

Your sheet remains the source of truth. PlotSet holds a copy of the rows you brought over, and you re-paste or re-upload when they change.

Lo que esto no hace

  • It is not a live two-way sync

Charts do not currently poll your sheet for changes on a schedule. Updating a published chart means pasting or uploading the new rows, which takes about as long as it sounds.

  • One sheet, one chart

PlotSet reads a rectangular range with a header row. Merged cells, several tables stacked on one tab and pivot-table output all need tidying first.

  • Formulas come across as values

What arrives is the calculated result, not the formula. That is normally what you want in a chart, but it means the recalculation still happens in Sheets.

Preguntas sobre los gráficos de Google Sheets

Copy the range including its header row, open a PlotSet template and paste it into the data grid — or download the sheet as CSV and upload the file. Bind the columns, style the chart, then publish to get a live embed.
